I've tried a few calculators for standard deviation over the years and most just give a number without showing how they got there. That matters when you're checking homework or trying to understand where the spread actually comes from. If you want to see the working alongside the result this one is worth checking https://brighterly.com/calculator/standard-deviation-calculator/ since it separates population and sample clearly, something a lot of tools blur together. I still do the mean and squared differences by hand sometimes just to confirm nothing was misread from pasted data. It handles copied spreadsheet columns fine in my experience. Nothing fancy about it, it just does the arithmetic correctly and lets you verify each step yourself.
